Food with Dignity
Our Founder Elise Riannen knew first hand what life was like having to rely on food parcels from welfare services each week just to put food on the table.
"It was really defeating having to call welfare services to see if I could book an appointment to be assessed for a food parcel that week. Most times I would call anywhere between 20-40 times before I could speak to someone and many times I was told I missed out (as everyone else was calling at the same time) or they were closed over holiday periods. It was also difficult because most of the time I received food I was intollerant to that caused further health problems without access to fresh unprocessed food. This is why I feel so passionate about making it easier to access what you need when you need it most"
Our pantry is open 24/7
Unlike other community pantries in Australia, our initiative is accessible at all hours of the day, including public holidays and is community led thanks to our team of incredible volunteers.
Although we cannot always guarantee there will be food available, we currently receive four deliveries a week and are working to secure deliveries everyday.
